Jason Robert Brown Masterclass

CCMT are delighted to announce that internationally acclaimed songwriter/composer Jason Robert Brown will be flying to Auckland for one night only, to conduct a Master Class for them, on Friday 18th March 2011.
Hailed as “one of Broadway’s smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim” (Philadelphia Inquirer), JRB won a Tony Award for his score to “Parade” in 1999. His “extraordinary, jubilant theatre music” (Chicago Tribune) has been heard all over the world in the hundreds of productions of his musicals every year (“The Last Five Years”, “Songs for a New World”, “13”, etc.), or in his own incendiary live performances. His Auckland appearance will be at the end of an Australian wide tour, performing his music in concert and conducting master classes.
Twelve talented individuals from the Auckland region have been selected to perform with Jason Robert Brown at the Musgrove Theatre in Auckland. The three hour Master Class will have an audience limited to just 100 people, to experience this master in action.

Final 2011 Summer School Tutor Announcement
Daniel graduated from The New Zealand School of Dance in 2001. After graduating he understudied and danced in Douglas Wright’s 2002 season of ‘Inland’ then went on to dance with Black Grace Dance Company for the next four years. During his time with Black Grace Daniel performed at festivals and in theatres around the world including the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and a month season off Broadway. He was honoured to create work for the company and in 2006 was commissioned by Black Grace to design a new work for their triple bill 'Black Grace and Friends'.
Since then, Daniel has had the opportunity to choreograph for television (Stars in their Eyes, Montana Sunday Theatre "Life's a Riot") and is currently Assistant Choreographer for the World Of Wearable Art show. Daniel also has the privilege of being Rehearsal Director for two of New Zealand's leading contemporary dance companies, Okareka Dance Company and Atamira Dance Company.
