Sarah Knox - Dance Tutor, 2008 Summer School

Sarah was born in Auckland and trained at the New Zealand School of Dance, specialising in classical ballet and contemporary dance. She graduated in 2001 with a Diploma in Dance Performance, also winning awards for Best All Round Student and Promise in Choreography.

Highlights of her dance career to date are working with Douglas Wright and Black Grace. Sarah has danced with various other choreographers and in corporate events and films.

In 2005 and 2006 Sarah travelled to Japan where she worked as a dancer, vocalist and magician's assistant in a resort hotel. While there she also learned Nihon Buyo - Traditional Japanese Dance. In 2006 Sarah joined Footnote Dance Company and has danced in works by Malia Johnston, Moss Patterson, Jeremy Nelson, Raewyn Hill, Deirdre Tarrant and Michael Parmenter.

In her spare time Sarah is studying extramurally towards a Bachelor of Arts at Massey University.
