Lisa Chappell - 2011 Focus Workshop Tutor

Lisa Chappell first hit our screens playing spoilt teenager Chelsea Redfern in the iconic television series Gloss. A variety of roles were to follow in film, theatre, and television including; Shark In The Park, Chicago, Desperate Remedies, All My Sons, The Herbal Bed, City Life and Hercules. At thirty Lisa decided to take time out from her successful career to develop her craft. She successfully auditioned for the Sydney Actors Centre course – The Journey.

On completing the two year course she won the role that broke hearts the world over ; Claire McLeod in McLeods’ Daughters.  Lisa won two prestigious Logie awards for her portrayal of the tough farm girl who came to a tragic end.  After three memorable seasons Lisa left the show and followed a new passion, music.

She wrote and released her album When Then Is Now in 2007 which is still selling around the world.  In the following two years Lisa played the female lead in the critically acclaimed Australian film Coffin Rock,  Rita in the touring production of Educating Rita and guest roles in a variety of Australian television dramas.

Lisa now bases herself in NZ where she has appeared in Auckland Theatre Company’s; Design For Living, The Thirty Nine Steps and The Importance of Being Earnest. In 2009 Lisa hit our screens again as  the mercenary  Sophie in The Cult, which won her a Qantas award for best supporting actress.
