CCMT STUDENT TURNED TUTOR OFF TO PERFORM IN EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL!!!

Past CCMT student and popular tutor and assistant director in last January’s Emerging Talent School programme,Ryan Bennett, is currently playing a lead role in the musical The Factory now touring Australia - then heading off to headline the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.   This is living the dream for Ryan, who had a bare month’s rehearsals when he joined the cast of this show set in 1970’s Auckland and telling a joyous though poignant story of Pasifika families moving to the ‘land of milk and honey’ (and the young Samoan lady who falls for the factory owner’s son Edward, played by Ryan). They set out for the Aussie tour on 10 June and will do 25 performances in 26 days in Scotland during August. Wow!

Also starring in the show is another past CCMT’er Paul Fagamalo who does an outstanding job of playing Misilei AND the show’s producer is none other than founding CCMT Board member William McKegg – so we feel very close to this particular show and the exciting opportunity it is giving our local performers to hit the stage on the other side of the world with a wonderful and uniquely Kiwi/Pasifika musical.

We wish all the cast and crew every success. Check out these reviews of their recent Parramatta (Sydney) season!!http://dailyreview.crikey.com.au/the-factory-review-riverside-theatres-parramatta-sydney/    andhttp://theatreunzipped.wordpress.com/2014/06/19/the-factory/
