Hamish McGregor - Programme Director
Hamish McGregor is in big demand across the country. We were extremely fortunate to secure his commitment to the Director’s role for our January Emerging Talent School to be held in Auckland from 14 – 22 January 2017.
Hamish offers students lucky enough to attend next year’s ETS so many positives – not only is he an extremely talented musical theatre director and actor with extensive experience in both capacities, he is also a qualified school teacher. Hamish is extremely well connected and respected, not just in theatre but also in the international education sector having also taught in China and South Korea.
McGregor recently directed A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in Auckland and is currently directing Avenue Q in Gore.
Earlier this year, McGregor co-wrote and directed with Naomi Cohen, Hungover - a Musical Comedy, a show that enjoyed a close to sell-out season at the Basement Theatre in Auckland. At the same time Hamish was co-directing The Wizard of Oz for ACG Parnell College.
Hamish’s performance credits include Les Miserables, Oliver, My Fair Lady, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Honk and Mamma Mia.
In 2014 he was awarded a NAPTA for “Best Set Design” and “Best Direction of a Musical”.
