  • Ellie Smith - Course Director, 2007 Summer School
    Ellie Smith is originally from Auckland. She has been an actress for almost 40 years. She trained in acting with Gil Cornwall in Auckland from a very young age and has always been indebted to him for his inspiration and vision.
  • Bruce Phillips - Drama Tutor, 2007 Summer School
    Bruce has been an actor, director and writer in theatre since graduating with a BA in French at Victoria University in 1974. While there he performed in many Drama Society plays before starting his professional life in radio drama.
  • Gabi Argov - Vocal Tutor, 2007 Summer School
    Having started playing the piano at 3 and achieving honours at the Royal Schools of Music, Gabi has performed and directed all over the world. Now domiciled in Israel, Gabi is heavily involved in choral, theatre and musical direction throughout the country.
  • Carrie McLaughlin - Choreographer, 2007 Summer School
    CCMT is honoured to have Carrie on the dance team this year. Qualified in dance both here in New Zealand and with the Jose Limon Dance Co. in New York Carrie brings a wealth of experience and perspective to the dance discipline. Versatile as she is, you may well be familiar with her work through her performances with the Beat Girls.
  • James Doy - Musical Director, 2007 Summer School
    James has been working in the industry as a performer, teacher and director for over 10 years now and has extensive experience in musical theatre, both as Musical Director and as part of the band for touring productions such as Cats, Little Shop Of Horrors, Porgy and Bess and Les Miserables.
  • Jason Te Mete - 2013, 2011 Summer School Director, 2007, 2008 Summer School Repetiteur
    CCMT’s Board is delighted Jason Te Mete is able to fit into his demanding schedule the role of Director of our 2013 Emerging Talent School. This year Jason has been in great demand as a director and a vocal coach. He has been the resident Vocal Lecturer at Manukau Institute of Technology where he has musically directed their very successful productions of West Side Story and Godspell
  • Angela Johnson - Vocal Tutor, 2007 Summer School
    A former student of the highly regarded WAAPA, Angela is currently the Singing Coordinator/Performance Tutor at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art in Christchurch.
  • Cameron Rhodes - 2013, 2010 Summer School Drama Tutor, Education Director, 2008 Summer School
    A previous tutor at the 2006 and 2007 CCMT Schools Cameron is a hugely versatile actor and has a comprehensive acting career spanning all three major mediums.
  • Michael Hurst - Masterclass Tutor, 2008 Summer School
    Michael's skills include acting, directing, writing, dancing, and singing, and stage fight and fencing choreography. He was also a fencing champion.
  • Samuel Gavin - Repetiteur, 2008 Summer School
    A lover of music and philosophy, Samuel was introduced to the piano at a young age and has been improving his skills ever since.
  • Jane Keller - Vocal Tutor, 2008 Summer School
    American born Jane Keller trained at The Ohio State University where she received a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, and Master of Vocal Pedagogy.
  • Simon Walter - Musical Director, 2010 Summer School, 2008 Summer School
    Simon's career in musical theatre began on stage where he took lead roles in Singing in the Rain, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Oliver, to name a few. In 1998 Simon was asked to Musical Direct South Pacific and since then, he hasn't looked back and has Musical Directed over 20 productions in the last 10 years.
  • Russell Pickering - Education Director, 2008-2009 Summer School
    Russell is a professional actor and director. After completing his BA in Drama at the University of Waikato, he won the Bob Hope Scholarship to study for his MFA in Acting at Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, TX.
  • Penny Dodd is a pianist, arranger and musical director with 28 years experience in New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain.
  • Janice Webb - Vocal Tutor 2010 Summer School, Masterclass Tutor 2008 Summer School, CCMT Patron
    Janice began her teaching career at Wellington Teacher’s College. During that time she sang on the national programme’s “Broadcast to Schools” and made many recordings. Janice continued her primary teaching while also performing leading roles in Opera, Operetta, Musicals and Oratorios before “retiring” after thirty years teaching to dedicate herself to fulltime vocal training.
  • Jennifer Ward Lealand - Masterclass Tutor, 2008 Summers School
    Since she first trod the boards at the age of 7, Jennifer has become one of New Zealand’s leading actresses. She has worked extensively in theatre, film, television, musical and radio for over 25 years
  • Ben Crowder - Performance Director, 2008 Summer School
    Ben is a co-founder and director of Auckland’s independent company Theatre Stampede. He studied drama and playwriting at The University of Otago; went on to complete a post-graduate diploma in drama at The University of Auckland; and continued his professional training at The John Bolton Theatre School in Melbourne.
  • Paul Barrett - Accent Tutor, 2010 Summer School, Repetiteur, 2008 Summer School
    Paul is an actor, musical director and voice artist. He obtained a Bachelor of Music( Honours) degree from Victoria University in 1978 and made his professional debut as an actor in 1980 at Circa Theatre, Wellington. He has subsequently appeared in over a hundred productions throughout New Zealand and in Australia and Britain.
  • Sarah Knox - Dance Tutor, 2008 Summer School
    Sarah was born in Auckland and trained at the New Zealand School of Dance, specialising in classical ballet and contemporary dance. She graduated in 2001 with a Diploma in Dance Performance, also winning awards for Best All Round Student and Promise in Choreography.
  • Taane Mete - Dance Tutor, 2011, 2009, 2008 Summer School
    Taane Mete is considered one of this countries most outstanding and versatile dancers.
